Waney Edge Sycamore Side Table

This neat little side / sofa table has been handmade using barn-dried Sycamore from Cranham, Gloucestershire. It features a subtle Oak bowtie to stabilise a natural crack and a simply stunning holographic like grain at one end!

By applying the precept of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí that “there are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature” the timber has not been left as it was sawn, but bevelled and rounded so the edges of the table are smooth to touch and looks at peace, as one piece - giving the rustic country style a more a more refined, contemporary finish.

This table has been treated with a low-VOC rot and insect protection, then finished with several coats of non-toxic spirit and linseed oil before applying a final coat of Osmo Polyx-oil for a protective satin and environmentally conscious finish that showcases the natural beauty of the grain. The legs are handmade in Wiltshire by thehairpinlegco using powder-coated carbon steel and fitted with 1” stainless steel screws offering genuinely superior strength.
